Wood engraving
Your design, with the character of wood. Add a logo, name or short message to a suitable wooden product. We assess the timber, finish and available engraving area so the design works with the object.

Work with the grain
Wood is a natural material: grain, colour and density influence the appearance of an engraving. Solid timber, veneer, plywood and bamboo can produce different effects. Treatments and adhesive layers also matter. A simple line drawing, a filled logo and a large text area each respond differently to a busy grain. Small details may lose readability; we review the artwork together with the real product.
Gifts, presentation items and custom shapes
Choose the object and how it will be used first. A subtle logo on a lid calls for a different layout from a message on a larger board. We consider the free space, grain direction and the amount of detail readable at your chosen size. Suitable boards, labels and table items can support a business presentation or a personal gift. For exterior use, explain the location and exposure. Suitable sheet materials can combine engraving with a cut contour.
Species, construction and finish
Tell us the precise wood species or product specification. Solid wood retains its natural grain; veneer has a thin top layer; plywood and bamboo can show their layered construction. Report varnish, oil, adhesive layers and other treatments. For composite sheets we assess the construction before cutting or engraving. The word “wood” alone is insufficient to confirm suitability. A product link or specification helps.
Artwork and batch consistency
Supply the original artwork so we can judge detail and position. A clear logo or simple line often works better at small sizes. For a batch, state whether the items share the same species and construction. We discuss the desired consistency alongside natural variation. A material trial is not a standard promise for every enquiry; if useful, we agree its execution and any cost beforehand.
Machine area and product assessment
The larger laser has a working area of 910 × 610 mm. The separate fibre laser has a 120 × 120 mm engraving field; this is not the limit for all wood projects. Available height, positioning, material and the actual engraving area still determine feasibility. Provide the dimensions of the whole object as well as the intended design.
Preparing your enquiry
Include species or product information, photographs, overall dimensions, finish, the design and position, quantity, any different names or messages, intended use and preferred receipt date. An original vector logo is useful; a photograph or sketch can be assessed first. Send files by email after initial contact. For repeated names, use one checked list linking the exact text to each variant.
Quotation, delivery and timing
Design size and filled areas, preparation, positions and quantity affect the price. We deliver products throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. Bringing or collecting items at Heusing 10K in Breda is by appointment; obtain agreement before sending your own products. We agree packaging and shipping charges. Lead time: 1–5 working days, subject to stock availability. The schedule is confirmed after checking stock and execution; larger projects are planned individually.
Frequently asked questions
Can you engrave my own wooden item?
Send dimensions, species and photographs and disclose coatings or adhesive layers. Supply the item only after we have agreed feasibility and execution.
Will every engraving look identical?
Natural grain, colour and density can vary. We discuss the variation that is appropriate for the product and your expectations.
Can a photograph be engraved?
Send the original image and product for assessment. Resolution, contrast, species and size affect suitability; a photograph needs a different assessment from a simple logo.
Can you cut the shape as well?
For suitable sheet material, cutting and engraving may be combined. Composition, thickness, size and drawing determine the options.
Does engraving make wood suitable for outdoors?
No. Species, construction, finish and exposure determine weather resistance. Engraving alone does not make wood weatherproof.
Can the same logo be combined with different names?
For suitable products, a consistent layout can use variable names. Link each exact name to the correct product and check the longest name against the available area.
