The right information. In the right place.

Have identification plates engraved with your company logo, product information and serial numbers. For machines, products and assets. A consistent layout can contain different information on each plate. Tell us the application, dimensions and quantity; we agree the material and mounting beforehand.

Response within 24 hours. Lead time: 1–5 working days, subject to stock availability. For larger projects, we agree the lead time individually. The schedule is confirmed after checking stock and the proposed work.

From our workshop

Completed: 111 identification plates for CampPlus.

SDLG made 111 plates with a logo and sequential numbering for CampPlus. The plates were cut from Rowmark engraving plastic with a brushed-aluminium appearance: 9 × 9 cm, with four mounting holes. The photograph above shows this completed work.

This is a plastic version with an aluminium appearance. For a metal plate or a different operating environment, we assess the material, dimensions and process individually.

    Careful choices make the difference

Identification plate engraving with a clear information hierarchy

The right information should be easy to find on an identification plate. Put details needed every day, such as the model or serial number, in a recognisable position. Other information can be smaller if it remains legible at the finished size. We help assess the layout and whether the design can be produced.

For several plates, use a data file with one row per item and consistent column headings. Treat numbers with leading zeros as text, so 0017 does not become 17. Give the list a version number. You supply the information and any required markings; engraving does not constitute product inspection or certification.

    Options

Start with the purpose of the plate.

Will someone use it to locate a component, identify an installation or read product information? This determines which details come first. Tell us which fields are needed, what changes per item and how much space is available at the mounting position.

    Machine and product identification

A clear layout for supplied product information, item codes and numbers. You determine the content and any applicable requirements.

    Asset and location numbers

Plates for identifying assets, locations or components. We discuss viewing distance, dimensions, mounting surface and attachment.

    Batches with variable fields

One consistent design with different information on each plate. Find file preparation advice under batch engraving.

    Material & process

Material, layout and mounting belong together.

    01

    Operating environment

Tell us whether the plate will be used indoors or outdoors and whether moisture, heat, cleaning agents or friction matter. The mounting surface also counts. We use this information to discuss the material and marking; outdoor suitability or chemical resistance is assessed rather than assumed.

    02

    Readable information

Provide the longest text and the full number format. This helps us assess whether all variations fit the same layout. If a QR code or barcode must be scanned, also specify the available space and intended use.

    03

    Mounting

Holes, an adhesive layer or another mounting method are agreed beforehand. Identify the mounting surface; for holes, provide dimensions and centre-to-centre distances.

The completed CampPlus project shown above uses engraving plastic with an aluminium appearance. We agree the material, data and mounting individually for your plate. Compare Stainless steel engraving for a metal version. You supply the technical product information and any required markings.

    Preparing your enquiry

    This helps us get started.

    • The application and conditions in which the plate will be used.
    • Overall dimensions, required shape and mounting details.
    • All fixed text, logos and required fields.
    • A list of the variable information for each plate.
    • Quantity, possible repeat orders and required date.

An original logo or vector file is useful. If you only have a photograph or sketch, send it for assessment first. Supply files by email after initial contact.

    From idea to proposal

    What affects the price?

Material, dimensions, different versions, holes or other finishing, and data preparation determine the proposal. A fixed layout can be reused as a starting point for later batches; changes to the information are always checked.

SDLG works from Breda and delivers products throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. Visits, drop-offs and collection at Heusing 10K are by appointment only. Tell us your preference when enquiring; we agree the schedule, packaging and shipping costs. See our contact details and directions to our workshop.

    Useful to know

    Frequently asked questions.

Have a different question? Ask us about your project.

Can you design my identification plate?

We can agree the layout with you using the supplied content and available space. Tell us which information is fixed and which specifications you must follow.

    Which material do I need?

This depends on the mounting surface, environment, attachment and required appearance. Include this information in your enquiry so we can assess a suitable available option.

Can each plate have a different serial number?

Supply the sequence or individual information for each plate. Use consistent columns and specify leading zeros, so 0007 does not unintentionally become 7.

Can you add a code or certification mark?

Specify exactly what is required and supply the correct file. We assess applicability, size and readability beforehand. Engraving information does not itself certify a product.

How should I specify dimensions and mounting holes?

Give the width, height, required thickness and all dimensions in millimetres. For holes, specify the diameter and the centre positions relative to the edges. A simple dimensioned drawing helps us agree the available space and mounting.

Can you reproduce an existing identification plate?

Send a photograph, dimensions and the correct text. Specify damaged or unreadable fields separately; we do not guess technical information. We then discuss a suitable version and any differences from the original plate.

    Make the information useful.

Discuss QR codes and barcodes if the plate also needs to be scanned. Compare aluminium as a material or explore nameplates for visible room identification.

    Need just a short identifier?

For a number or compact label on a key or separate set, compare tags and labels . Choose an information carrier that suits its use.

Put your brand or operating instructions first.

Compare brand plates with your logo to identify the maker of your product, and control panels for functions and labels.
