Laser cutting
Turn a drawing into a useful object. SDLG in Breda cuts suitable non-metal sheet materials and can combine the contour with an engraved logo or text. Share the material, thickness, dimensions and intended use so we can assess your design.

Laser cutting: from a vector line to a useful part
A successful contour needs to work in practice: a label must remain strong around its hanging hole, a narrow section of a letter must withstand handling, and a display needs to stand securely. We discuss the intended use and check whether the smallest details suit your material. Our GCC Hybrid can combine cutting and engraving. Its working area is 910 × 610 mm; that is a machine limit, not a guarantee that every object or thickness can be processed. The separate fibre laser’s 120 × 120 mm engraving field does not limit this cutting service.

Shapes, letters and engraved contours
You can discuss presentation shapes, labels, letters and suitable decorative parts. Give the overall dimensions and smallest features. A logo or text can be engraved on the same part where feasible. For parts that fit together, explain the function and desired connection. We assess feasibility and any trial piece for each design. Metal cutting is not a standard service through this enquiry route; marking an existing metal item is a different application.
Material before cutting line
Wood, cardboard and suitable acrylic offer different possibilities. We need the precise material, composition, thickness and finish. An unknown plastic cannot be accepted solely on its appearance. We do not offer PVC laser cutting because PVC is unsuitable for laser processing. We confirm the proposed execution for your actual material and intended edge quality. We do not promise a universal maximum thickness based only on machine power.
Closed contours, dimensions and fit
Supply artwork at actual size, with dimensions in millimetres. Close outer contours, remove duplicate lines and convert text to outlines to preserve the typeface. Clearly separate cut lines, engraving and construction lines. The laser removes a narrow strip along the cut line. This kerf, the actual sheet thickness and the desired connection affect slots, holes and interlocking parts. Tell us whether the fit should be loose, sliding or tight. We agree any trial piece and its cost before producing the batch; no general tolerance is assumed.
Prepare your laser cutting quotation
Include a vector drawing, such as SVG or a PDF containing vector lines; the material and thickness; the overall size and quantity; a distinction between cutting and engraving; and the intended use, fit, finish and receipt date. Putting a photograph inside a PDF does not make it vector artwork. A dimensioned sketch is a useful starting point. Any drawing work and its cost are included in the proposal. Send files by email after initial contact.
What determines the price?
Cut length, fine detail, engraving, preparation, material and quantity contribute to the price. A long or intricate contour may take more work than a simple shape with the same outer dimensions. We agree the execution before starting production.
Delivery and lead time
We deliver products throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. Bring or collect materials at Heusing 10K in Breda by appointment only, and obtain agreement before sending your own sheets. Packaging and shipping charges are agreed for the order. Lead time: 1–5 working days, subject to stock availability. We confirm the schedule after checking stock and the proposed work. Larger projects have an individually agreed lead time. Shipping transit time is separate from production.
Frequently asked questions about laser cutting
What is the maximum cutting thickness?
There is no single value for every material. Composition, thickness, edge quality and intended use determine what is suitable. Send the exact specification for assessment.
Can I supply a photograph or sketch?
Yes, to discuss the idea. Production requires an appropriate drawing with dimensions; any drawing preparation is agreed in the quotation.
Do you cut metal?
Standard metal laser cutting is not offered through this service. You can enquire about engraving or marking suitable existing metal items.
Will the parts fit together immediately?
That depends on actual sheet thickness, kerf and the connection. We discuss dimensions and, where needed, a trial part before committing to a critical fit.
Will the centres of cut-out letters stay in place?
Inner shapes, such as the centre of an O, can become loose. Small connecting bridges can retain them in a stencil. Tell us whether you need individual letters, an opening or a stencil so the drawing can be prepared correctly.
