Careful choices make the difference

Choose window stickers for light, visibility and message

Window stickers can identify an entrance, highlight a promotion or provide screening. These goals need different choices. Decide what people outside should read and how much view and daylight to retain inside. The design should work pleasantly on both sides of the glass.

Viewing and installation sides determine construction. Coated glass, existing films and special glass require extra assessment. SDLG checks your logo and fine detail at the selected size. Supply photographs, glass dimensions, existing treatments and intended indoor or outdoor use. Temporary promotions and permanent business information are agreed separately.

Options

Consider both sides of the window.

Windows are viewed from outside and inside. Clear street-facing text may affect light and visibility indoors. Say who should read the message, which areas must remain clear and whether the purpose is a temporary promotion or a lasting identity.

Logo and opening hours

Identify your entrance and coordinate the design with your building signage.

A shop-window promotion

Highlight an offer or new product. Discuss duration and removal beforehand so material suits the campaign.

More screening

A matt or opaque effect can provide privacy. Discuss which areas should retain light and view. Read our guide to office privacy window film after dark.

Choices & specification

Match the vinyl to the glass.

01

Inside or outside

Installation and viewing sides determine reading direction and construction. Supply your artwork in normal reading direction first; any mirroring is agreed during preparation. State whether visitors should read the design from outside or inside and which side is accessible for installation.

02

Transparent or matt

Clear, matt and opaque materials affect light and view differently. Colour may need a suitable white underlayer on transparent material. Describe desired screening and the view from both sides so we can assess the specification.

03

Measuring and glass type

List glass panels separately with width and height. Include seals, handles, existing films, coatings and glass type. Insulating or coated glass, coverage and direct sunlight can affect compatibility. Photographs help initial discussion; final dimensions and specification need agreement.

We assess the complete work, including existing films, removal and preparation, before confirming installation.

Preparing your enquiry

This helps us get started.

  • Photographs of the glass and surroundings.
  • Dimensions, glass type and existing treatments.
  • Viewing side, desired transparency and duration.
  • Logo, opening hours or campaign design.
  • Location, required date and installation preference.

After contact, send artwork and a panel list with window ID, text, dimensions and installation side. Use our artwork guidance. If an image crosses several panels, frames interrupt it; we agree final layout and important text positions beforehand.

Useful to know

Frequently asked questions.

Have a different question? Ask us about your project.

Can you put opening hours on a glass door?

We can discuss a suitable specification. Supply exact text, photographs and glass dimensions, including handles and the side accessible for installation.

Should the sticker go inside or outside?

This depends on glass, viewing side and material. We agree the specification and any mirroring for the intended viewing direction.

Can old window lettering be removed?

We assess age, material, glass condition and access. Removal is not automatically included in a new lettering proposal.

Is every vinyl suitable for every type of glass?

No. Glass type, coverage, exposure and existing treatments matter. Supply glass and product details before we confirm compatibility.

Can one design cover several windows?

Yes, with a checked layout and dimensions. Number the panels and include gaps and frames. Important text should remain within clear glass, with door movement and viewing direction considered.

Can opening hours or promotions be changed later?

Separate fixed and changeable areas can make updates easier. We assess existing vinyl before proposing replacement; age and colour changes may affect matching.
