100 engraved drinking glasses for Druiventros

100 engraved drinking glasses with a distinctive dachshund design. For wine and spirits shop Druiventros in Breda, SDLG engraved a batch of rounded drinking glasses supplied by the customer. The existing artwork was adapted to create a clear engraving at a small size. The glasses, intended for sale in the shop, were delivered in April 2026.

The request: an original design on a batch of drinking glasses

Druiventros wanted 100 glasses engraved for its shop range. The design shows a dachshund with the Dutch words “mijn teckelmaatje”. With such a recognisable illustration, the character of the design needs to remain visible even on a small area.

SDLG prepared the file, advised on positioning and engraved the customer-supplied glasses.

Fewer details for a clearer engraving

The original design contained many fine details. At the size of the engraving, these would have been too close together. SDLG therefore simplified the artwork before engraving the glasses.

This gave the lines more space and helped prevent parts of the image merging together. The dachshund and wording remained the starting point; the detail was adjusted for the final appearance on glass.

Engraved drinking glasses: positioning on a curved surface

SDLG used a rotary attachment: a setup that allows the glass to rotate during laser engraving. This made it possible to apply the design to its rounded shape.

Positioning the engraving and preparing the design produced a batch with a consistent appearance. The overview photograph shows the finished glasses.
