Name badge engraving

A name makes contact personal.

Engraved name badges make your team recognisable and approachable. Include a clearly readable name, company logo and, if required, a job title. SDLG in Breda matches layout, material and fastening to the clothing and everyday use.

Careful choices make the difference

Engraved name badges for a recognisable team

A good name badge helps people address someone by name. Give the name enough space; the logo does not need to be the largest element. A job title or department can be added as supporting information. We consider the balance between these details, the available size and the clothing on which the badge will be worn.

Supply names exactly as they should appear, including accents, particles and capitalisation. The longest name is a useful check for the whole layout. Discuss fastening too: comfort, clothing type and workplace requirements can affect the choice. SDLG assesses the design with the selected badge.

Options

Recognisable to customers and colleagues.

A good badge is quick to read at close range and suits the clothing it is worn on. Give the name enough space and decide whether a job title is needed. A standard layout gives short and long names the same considered appearance.

Reception and front desk

A name and company logo show visitors who they are speaking to. A simple layout works even at a small size.

Retail, hospitality and team clothing

Coordinate the badge with your workwear. Contrast, weight and fastening matter as much as colour.

New staff members

Want to add names later? Keep an approved layout and quote earlier order details in your next enquiry. Material and fastening availability are checked again.

Choices & specification

A small format. Considered choices.

01

Material and contrast

Suitable laser engraving laminate or an appropriate metal specification can be discussed. Text and background colours come from the chosen material combination.

02

Name and logo

Keep text legible and simplify small details where needed. A multicolour logo is usually adapted for engraving to a version the material can show.

03

Fastening to clothing

A pin passes through fabric, a clip needs a suitable edge, and a magnet holds the badge using a rear piece. The right option depends on the badge, fabric and working conditions. Include any requirements for fastenings; specification and availability are agreed beforehand.

Engraving does not provide unlimited colour choice. If exact logo colours are essential, we discuss whether another personalisation method better suits the badge and your brand.

Preparing your enquiry

This helps us get started.

  • Badge quantity and a checked name list.
  • Any job titles, departments and exact spelling.
  • Your logo and required name and logo positions.
  • Clothing type and fastening preferences or restrictions.
  • Required appearance, size and arrival date.

Use one row per badge with separate columns for name, title or department and quantity. Write accents, particles and capitals exactly as required. Specify material or fastening variants per row. For file guidance, see supplying logos and artwork.

From idea to proposal

What affects the price?

Material, badge size, number of name versions, fastening and layout preparation determine the quotation. Tell us whether you need an initial set or additions to existing badges.

Useful to know

Frequently asked questions.

Have a different question? Ask us about your project.

Can each staff member have a different name?

Yes. Supply names and any titles in one checked list. Decide whether to use first names, full names or a department and apply that consistently. Check spelling, quantities and the longest text before agreeing the specification.

Can the logo and name be engraved in colour?

Visible colours come from the material and engraving process. A full-colour logo is not a standard engraving result. Share your brand style so we can discuss a suitable specification.

Is a magnet always the best fastening?

No. The choice depends on clothing, badge and operating conditions. Tell us any fastening restrictions or requirements beforehand.

Can I order one additional badge later?

An additional enquiry is welcome. Include the previous order and new name. We check material availability and preparation; the price per badge may differ for a small addition.

How much text fits on a name badge?

This depends on size, typeface and the balance between name and logo. Start with the information people need to address someone. A long job title can go on a second line or be shortened. Include the longest name and title; we assess legibility at the actual size.

Can an engraved badge have a different name later?

An engraved name is permanent and cannot easily be replaced. If staff or temporary roles change frequently, tell us beforehand. We can discuss a new badge or a version with interchangeable information; options depend on the selected model.
