Careful choices make the difference
Pen engraving: limited space, recognisable detail
Available space on a pen is limited. A short company name or compact logo may work better than a full logo with a list of services. The longest individual name needs to fit too. We assess details at the finished size and on the selected model.
The clip, curvature and joints determine the engraving position. The difference between the outer layer and material underneath also affects the result. For your own pens, specify brand, model and finish. Photographs of the whole product and intended position help SDLG assess the enquiry.

From everyday use to a special occasion.
A pen for the whole team has a different role from a personal anniversary gift. Start with the recipient, use and required appearance. If you have already bought pens, send photographs and product details first. The available surface, clip and finish determine what can be engraved.
A recognisable team
Combine the same company logo with individual names. A clear name list helps match each pen to the right staff member.
A business gift
Make a pen part of your business gift. Tell us whether packaging is needed; it is not automatically included in every specification.
A personal occasion

Material and coating
On a metal pen, the base material and any coating determine the visible engraving. For a wooden pen, grain and wood type matter too. We assess the result on the selected model.

Position and reading direction
The clip, curvature and transitions determine which area is accessible. Tell us whether the engraving should be visible when writing, beside the clip or in a gift box. Specify reading direction, for example using a photograph marked with the text position.

Logo and names
A compact logo or short name gives small letters more space. Include the longest name and say whether a service line or slogan may be omitted. For both a logo and name, specify priority; we assess whether one or several positions are suitable.
A laser engraving does not automatically reproduce your brand colours. Visible contrast comes from processing the material or coating.
Preparing your enquiry

From idea to proposal
What affects the price?
Pen model, quantity, engraving positions, design preparation and variable names affect the price. A trial or assessment of a supplied pen may be included in the proposal.
SDLG works from Breda and delivers products throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. Visits, drop-offs and collection at Heusing 10K are by appointment only. Your first idea is enough to start a conversation.
Can each pen have a different name?
Yes, if the selected pen is suitable for engraving. Supply names on separate rows and quantities per variant; additional data preparation is included in the quotation.
Can I supply my own pens?
Yes, after assessment of the model, finish and intended position. Send a photograph of the whole pen and engraving area. See engraving your own products and supply the batch only after agreeing the specification.
Can my logo be engraved in colour?
Standard laser engraving is not multicolour printing. The visible shade depends on material and finish. If colour is essential, we discuss whether engraving suits your requirements beforehand.
Can I request just one pen?
Enquiries for one pen are welcome. We assess the model and design and explain the preparation and costs.
Can a logo and personal name go on the same pen?
You can request this. Supply the logo and longest name and tell us which should stand out most. The clip, curvature and space determine whether both fit one position or a second position is needed. Position count affects the proposal.
Can one batch contain different pen colours?
We can discuss this for available models. Specify quantities and names per colour. Coatings may respond differently even on the same model. We assess contrast and placement for each specification before confirming the batch.
