Banners and frames

A big message. Clearly presented.

Banners for your business, promotion or event? SDLG in Breda advises on a strong message, suitable banner material and finishing. For a replacement banner or a new framed display, location, viewing distance and fixings inform the proposal.

Careful choices make the difference

Design banners for the actual viewing distance

A banner on a building or fence serves a different purpose from one behind a presentation table. Start with reading distance, available space and main message. Large letters alone are not enough: contrast, images and the amount of information determine whether the message is understood.

Material and finishing depend on position and fixing method. Eyelets, sleeves or a frame need compatible artwork. SDLG checks your logo and achievable detail. Share location, dimensions and indoor or outdoor use; outdoor installations require assessment of surface, fixings and conditions.

Options

Visible at the distance that matters.

A street-facing banner has a different task from one beside an entrance. Start with viewing distance and the main message. A clear logo, short text and visual space help quick understanding. Available space then determines format.

Business premises

Identify an entrance, service or temporary promotion. Supply a photograph of the position and say whether a frame already exists.

Events and campaigns

Match the message to duration and audience. Printed team clothing can share the campaign identity.

Building or project site

For a suitable fence or frame, we discuss dimensions, fixings and local conditions. Not every surface or structure suits the same banner.

Choices & specification

The banner is part of the structure.

01

Material and visibility

Solid material provides a closed print surface; mesh has an open structure allowing air through. A message on both sides requires suitable double-sided material. Consider backlighting, viewing distance and detail. We choose material for the location, not dimensions alone.

02

Edges and fixings

Hems reinforce edges, eyelets provide fixing points and sleeves can accommodate a pole. Installation method determines finishing and eyelet or sleeve positions. Keep text and logo outside these areas. Large formats may need joins between sections; we discuss layout for the selected specification.

03

Frame and location

Measure an existing frame and show how the old banner is tensioned. Record clear opening, tube diameter and tensioner type; a photograph with a tape measure helps. Banner size differs from the frame’s outer dimensions because tensioning space is needed. For a new frame, we discuss surface, mounting height and access, including any equipment required.

Wind and fixings matter outdoors. Mesh allows air through but does not remove the need for assessment. For an indoor venue, share material requirements so we can discuss a suitable specification.

Preparing your enquiry

This helps us get started.

  • Photograph and description of the location.
  • Required width and height; identify an existing frame separately.
  • Indoor or outdoor use and intended duration.
  • Artwork, viewing distance and main message.
  • Required date, delivery location and installation preference.

After contact, email your logo, final message and available images. Specify final dimensions and any artwork scale. Image suitability depends on size and viewing distance; small contact text works differently on a building from beside a counter. See our artwork guidance. Margins and layout are agreed for edges, fixings and any joins.

From idea to proposal

What affects the price?

Size, material, single- or double-sided printing, edge finishing and fixings determine price. Say whether you need only a banner or also a frame. Installation, access and equipment are included separately. Share installation and receipt dates; availability and schedule are confirmed in the proposal.

Useful to know

Frequently asked questions.

Have a different question? Ask us about your project.

Can I order only a new banner for my frame?

Supply photographs and measured frame dimensions. We determine suitable banner size and finishing; the frame’s outer dimensions are not automatically the banner’s order dimensions.

What is the difference between solid material and mesh?

Mesh has an open structure that lets air through. Solid material has a different surface and appearance. Location, reading distance and fixing method determine the choice.

Can you install the banner?

We discuss supply and installation around Breda. Show location, surface and access so we can agree frame, fixings and schedule.

Can I reuse the banner later?

This depends on material, finishing, use and storage. Say beforehand that reuse matters and follow the selected specification’s care instructions.

Which measurements are needed for a replacement banner?

Identify exactly what you measured: old banner, clear opening or outside of the frame. Include overview and detail photographs of tensioners and fixings. Specify reused parts. We then determine banner size and edge finishing; do not order solely from the frame’s outer dimensions.

What should I consider for an event banner?

Ask the venue about permitted fixings and material requirements. Share these and the use period beforehand; documents or certificates must match the selected specification. Describe viewing distance, height and indoor or outdoor use. Allow setup time and agree responsibilities for delivery, installation and removal.
