Sportswear printing
Sport together. Recognisable as a team.
Sportswear printing for a company run, club team or event. SDLG in Breda helps with logos, sponsors, names and numbers on suitable sports fabrics. We advise on comfort, position and clear allocation per participant.

Careful choices make the difference
Sportswear printing for a recognisable team
A sportswear design needs to move with the wearer. Stretch, lightweight fabrics and seams need a suitable process. A large solid print may feel different from separate names or numbers. Supply exact model and fabric composition alongside the artwork.
For a team, one list per person is useful: size, name, number and any extra text belong together. SDLG checks logo detail on the selected item. Agree fixed sponsor logos, colours and positions beforehand; competition or team requirements may also determine layout.
Options
Start with the sport and wearer.
A shirt for a one-off run differs from kit worn every week. Tell us use, washing frequency and items in the set so we can assess garments and personalisation.
Company sport and events
Make participants recognisable with one logo and optional individual names. Combine the shirt with printed bags or accessories for distribution.
Teams and clubs
Record size, name and number per player. One layout gives a recognisable batch and helps later additions for a new member.
Coaches and support staff
Coordinate coaches and support staff with the team. For reception or presentation, compare branded polo shirts .
Choices & specification
Printing needs to suit the sports fabric.
01
Fabric and finish
Specify exact product and composition. Polyester, stretch and coatings need suitable printing. On some fabrics, heat may cause dye migration into a print; fabric and decoration stretch must also work together. We assess model, colour and design. For an unfamiliar combination, we discuss whether a trial is needed and any cost.
02
Logo and position
Chest, back and sleeves have areas limited by seams, ventilation panels and existing prints. Specify logo dimensions and team requirements. A large solid area feels different from separate letters; we check proportions on the smallest size too. For a company run, allow for a race number covering part of the print.
03
Names and numbers
Use one final list with model, colour, size, exact name, number and quantity per garment. Record both shirts if one participant has two. Check duplicate numbers and leading zeros; names and numbers are not derived from one another. Keep sponsor positions separate from personal details. Use our sample size list as a base and add name and number columns.
Care advice considers both garment and decoration. Tell us about intensive, industrial or specialist washing beforehand.
Preparing your enquiry
This helps us get started.
- Sport or event and required receipt date.
- Model, colour and fabric, or requirements for them.
- Quantities per size and garment.
- Logos, names, back numbers and positions.
- Delivery address and any sorting per team.
Supply original logos and one checked participant list after initial contact. Use our artwork guidance for artwork files. Specify event date and when clothing must arrive for distribution. For new models, we discuss the size chart and any fitting options; availability and costs are confirmed separately.
From idea to proposal
What affects the price?
Garment choice, quantity, print positions, artwork size and names or numbers determine the proposal. Trials and fitting options can be discussed but are not automatically included.
SDLG works from Breda and delivers personalised clothing throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. Visits and collection at Heusing 10K are by appointment only. Specify the required receipt date and delivery location; the proposal includes schedule and shipping costs. See our contact details and directions to our workshop.
Your first idea is enough to start a conversation.
Can every shirt have a different name and number?
Yes, with suitable garments and specification. Supply a final list with size, name and number per item and state whether other printing stays the same.
Can you print polyester sports shirts?
Many suitable polyester sports shirts can be personalised. Model, colour, stretch and finish are assessed beforehand. We confirm the process only when the product is known.
Can I supply my own sportswear?
Discuss this first. Include photographs, item number and fabric details. New, unworn clothing offers a better starting point; suitability and supply arrangements are confirmed first.
Can we add one new team member later?
An addition can be discussed using the earlier order reference. We recheck model, colour and size availability and explain any differences beforehand.
Can the same design work on child and adult sizes?
We assess area and proportions per model and size. Supply the full breakdown so we can determine whether one print size works or a smaller version is needed. Specify sponsor positions and numbers that must stay consistent.
Can an existing team shirt have another sponsor logo?
Sometimes, depending on material, condition, existing print and clear area. Send photographs and item details first and say whether garments are worn or washed. We confirm suitability beforehand. Removing or invisibly covering old printing is not automatically part of adding a logo.
From idea to finished product
How will your team appear at the start?
Tell us sport or event, expected participants and garments required. Include logos, names or numbers and receipt date. Already selected sportswear? Specify brand and model so we can assess printing on it.
