Careful choices make the difference

Create merchandise people want to use

Merchandise works best when the product is appealing in its own right. Start with audience and use: a shirt, hoodie or bag should suit the people representing your brand. A large logo is one option; an original phrase, graphic detail or recognisable colour can matter just as much.

SDLG helps translate ideas to fabric and checks achievable detail on the chosen product. Discuss sizes, colour variants, sale or distribution date and required appearance. Say whether you want to test one design or create a coordinated range; preparation differs by combination.

Options

A collection starts with its audience.

Selling clothing, involving a community or giving participants a keepsake? The purpose informs fit, colours and products. Start with a manageable combination and define which designs appear on which items. A collection stays recognisable without every item being identical.

Merchandise for your business

A welcome kit or campaign looks more consistent when clothing, accessories and packaging work together. Combine a hoodie with an engraved water bottle.

Clubs and events

A standard layout with different years, departments or editions can make a series recognisable. Specify quantity per variant and latest receipt date.

Your own clothing collection

Discuss shirts, hoodies and suitable brand details together. Neck printing and intended appearance can be part of the enquiry; the specification is agreed beforehand.

Choices & specification

Let product and design support each other.

01

Products and colours

Choose occasion, audience and a limited range of models and colours first. Fit, fabric feel and size range help determine suitability. Then divide quantity per model, colour and size: twenty garments across many variants differs from one uniform batch. Availability is checked for each specification.

02

Printing or embroidery

A compact chest logo in embroidery can give a subtle brand detail. Larger artwork may suit printing. Specify dimensions, positions and colour variants. We assess detail at actual size and its adaptation to shirts, hoodies or bags; one file need not use the same dimensions on every product.

03

Finishing and distribution

Discuss neck print, labels, packaging and distribution separately. Should items be sorted by size, assembled into kits or supplied individually? Specify each kit’s contents and distribution plan. The quotation states included finishing and sorting. Extra storage or a different delivery process is agreed separately.

Want to assess a sample first? Mention this in your enquiry. Samples, extra finishing, packaging and storage are provided only when agreed.

Preparing your enquiry

This helps us get started.

  • Audience and purpose: sale, campaign, event or distribution.
  • Products, colours and fits.
  • Design per item and print or embroidery position.
  • Quantity per variant and size breakdown.
  • Finishing, packaging and required receipt date.

Give each model, colour and design a reference and record quantities per size. Keep print positions and any neck finishing in separate columns. Email source files after contact; use our artwork guidance and sample size list. A sketch is enough to begin; final files and any artwork development are agreed afterwards.

From idea to proposal

What affects the price?

Model, quantity per variant, process, positions and finish determine the price. Several designs need more preparation than one layout. Include total budget and budget per item, with personalisation and any packaging, so we can compare choices for the first batch.

SDLG works from Breda and delivers personalised clothing throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. Visits and collection at Heusing 10K are by appointment only. Specify the required receipt date and delivery location; the proposal includes schedule and shipping costs. See our contact details and directions to our workshop.

Your first idea is enough to start a conversation.

Useful to know

Frequently asked questions.

Have a different question? Ask us about your project.

Can you combine clothing and accessories?

Yes, discuss shirts, hoodies, caps or bags in one enquiry. We assess suitable personalisation per item; artwork cannot always be used unchanged on every product.

Can we assess a sample before ordering the batch?

A sample can be discussed. We agree product and design, what you will assess, costs and schedule beforehand.

Can I have my brand printed inside the neck?

We can discuss this for suitable garments and a suitable specification. Specify position and information. Existing size, fabric and care information is considered in assessment.

Can we order another edition or extra batch later?

Include the earlier reference and changes. We reassess availability, colours and process. Using the same design does not mean a garment model stays available indefinitely.

How do we start with a manageable first collection?

Choose one main product and a limited range of colours or designs. Divide quantities for your audience and specify sale or distribution. A sample can be discussed first. Additions depend on product availability, so keep a record of the first specification.

Can I start with a sketch instead of print-ready artwork?

Yes, a sketch, text idea or visual reference helps establish direction. Explain what you want to retain and which products you have in mind. We determine the development and files needed. Design work, changes, costs and approval are agreed beforehand.
